Online Bill Pay
Two days ago I signed up through my bank to pay my bills online. I’m a little nervous about this. They say that as long as I pay three bills over the computer, I will not have to pay the $4.95 fee. They also say that I can send these e-checks to anybody that I want to. That’s fine and dandy, but I don’t have the bank account number for the man that cuts my grass. I guess maybe I can’t really send these checks to anyone I want to, but I got sucked into the trap. I always pay at least 3 bills a month. That would be the gas/electric, my phone bill and my cell phone bill. So, I have my 4.95 covered. The part that I don’t like about signing up for this online bill pay is that I just ordered 250 or 500 checks last month, AND I like ordering stamps by mail. I just got a new book in the mail yesterday. I’m so stuck in my ways it’s ridiculous. I guess I should welcome 2004 (oops, almost 2005) with open arms, but I don’t think I’m ready for that just yet. Well, at least I’m trying. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I'm too chicken to do the online bill paying thing. Hackers can get into any system that can be made and I don't want to go through one of those identity theft things. I had my debit card number stolen a few years ago and it cost me big, so I guess I'm kind of paranoid.
I think it all goes through my bank. I don't have to actually put my credit card number or bank account number on the computer anywhere. I have more to say, but it's long, so I'll just run over. bye!
I signed up for the online banking thing a while back. I never use it though. When there is a problem with a bill I like to have a readily available paper trail.
I am sure it is an efficent and time saving way to pay your bills, but I just prefer the old-fashioned way. I found that you need to allow three days for processing. So if you electric bill is due on the 5th tell the online banking it's due on the 2nd.
It probably didn't work well for me because I like to pay my bills way early. Good Luck!:)

I am still getting the paper bills, and I like that I can pay when I want to, and it's not automatic. I'm still a little old fashioned too. :) I was wondering how long it would take to process, so thanks for the heads up.
