Misers
Today was Engineer Guy's goodbye lunch. I picked out the restaurant, Bay Cafe. They have a really good shrimp salad, and I wanted to try someplace new with the group, since we tend to go to three restaurants. One is our usual goodbye lunch place, one is our 1/2 price burger place, and one was my former coworker's goodbye/birthday lunch place.
So, we get there, and everyone orders. Well, Gabby Hayes (my coworker who talks a lot) is Miss Particular when it comes to eating. She has to ask the waitress what kinds of sodas are available before she says 'coke', and then she has to ask a million and one questions about her item and then once she asks the questions, she has to have it a particular way. Every. Single. Time. It's funny, but pretty annoying.
We eat and the bill comes. Gabby and Office Guy (I still have to write about him) look at the bill, and you can see them saying '1.75 + 6.45 + 3.75 + exactly 15% tip...', before they put any money on the table. It was goodbye lunch, so you know you have to put some extra in the pot. YB and I threw in our 20 bucks and called it a day. I bet Gabby and Office Guy forgot they were supposed to be treating somebody. Talk about cheap. I may be cheap, but I'm really only cheap with myself. I'll spend the world on others and not care about the money because I have it. YB said to me, "I think Office Guy is a miser." That made me laugh so hard because I think he's right.
I don't know how many work lunches I'll be able to stand with these two people new to our lunch group. I hate to talk about them, but they bring it on themselves and it gets old-fast.

Uuggh! i hate eating with people like that - the one's that won't pay for themselves and the others they are treating! So annoying. I used to LOVE the Bay Cafe. I haven't been there in years. It's so fun in the summer time with the sandy area...
My favorite Baltimore place though, by far, is John Steven!! Steamed shrimp, clams, mussels, etc! YUM!
John Stevens was one of the choices in my head, but I think it's more expensive than Bay Cafe. I'll go there on my own soon. You have great food tastes, my friend.
