Savion Glover is SO my boyfriend

Oh My God.

Last night's show was outstanding!!! I thought we were going to be a little late because Ed forgot his Rolaids. Luckily, we're only 15 minutes from the theater, so we made it there in time. I wore a pair of my new high heels and Ed wore his suit. I love my new shoes, and my entire outfit. I think I looked pretty cute.

The lights dimmed, and the jazz band started playing music. Then, Savion appeared like an angel. hee hee. I'm not the most descriptive, but he looked awesome. He has gotten a little thinner since the last time I saw him, but nevermind that. He was wearing a hot pink button down shirt, which was open, a white wifebeater underneath and black pants. He tapped his heart out. It was like a dream. If you closed your eyes and just listened to the band and his feet, it was like you were in a different world. There are so many noises you can make with your feet it's incredible. He tapped light and heavy, quiet and loud, slow and fast. [During the performance, the hot pink shirt started getting sweaty and it turned a dark pink. He was tapping and tapping and the shirt was getting darker and darker. I whispered to Ed that the first half wasn't going to end until his shirt was completely drenched. I think I was right.] I really can't describe the show and make it sound worth seeing, but if you EVER have the chance, you HAVE to go see him. The tickets ranged from 22-47 dollars, so it wasn't expensive at all to see a great show. A little bit of culture never hurt anyone. :)

One funny part is that when the lights dimmed there were tons of open seats. Black people are known for being late for everything, and I figured it would happen here also. The people may be dressed to the nines, but they surely can't get anywhere on time. The show started at 8 (maybe 8:05), and this couple came in about 8:30. I don't wear a watch, so I really don't know what time they got there, but they missed a couple segments. As the people are walking to their 2nd row seats, Savion was on the side of the stage getting ready to start the next segment. He said something to the couple as they were moving down the row. I hope he said 'nice of you to show up, a$$holes.' hee hee. I would've laughed if I heard that. I'm glad he said something. Some people are so rude, especially during a show. If you can't get there on time, sit in the back until intermission. It's too bad you paid a lot of money for tickets. Perhaps you should buy a watch.

Savion tapped for one hour and then there was a 20 minute intermission and then he tapped for another 45 minutes. No wonder he's so skinny. For the second half, he had three teenagers (maybe early 20s) tapping with him in addition to the jazz band. The kids were great! I wonder how those kids became interested in tap dancing. It seems that tap dancing is kind of a lost art, so for these kids to be so good at what they do, I'm thinking they must go to a special school or something.

Allright, this is long enough. Go see my boyfriend. I think he's playing in Boston next and then he's going to some other cities. His website is www.savionglover.com, so check it out.
