Monogramming? yes or no

I love these sweaters that I saw in a catalog this weekend. They are a wool/cashmere cable knit. You can get them in v-neck, crewneck or turtleneck. I think I might buy two of them. What do you think of getting them monogrammed? I think it's so funny but I would love to have my initials on a sweater. You can get any color thread too. It would be on the left chest corner. I kind of want to get some random initials and not necessarily my own, but I would hate when people ask me whose initials they are. But..when I do eventually give these sweaters to goodwill someone will have them with my initials so what's the difference?
