The House Party

I went to a house party last night, and it was such a good time. I guess it was good for me to be out and about, mingling and talking to people who I will never remember nor see in the near future.
Fun times.
Most of the people from the party decided to hit the local bar for last call, and it just happened to be karaoke night.

If you've never been to Baltimore, there is a bar on pretty much every corner. It's crazy, but what can you do? On Saturday nights, there is usually karaoke. The best part is that if you're a bad singer or a good singer, you get a round of applause at the end of the song.
Some weird old guy asked me to dance. I probably shouldn't call him weird or old because he's the owner of the bar. I've been in this bar a couple times, so I guess I've seen him before, I just couldn't recall. He remembered me though. We danced to Strawberry Wine (oh yeah, a lot of the songs are old country favorites that most people at the bar know).
There was this other weird old guy wearing a Members Only jacket (hee hee) that kept staring at me. I'm thinking he was drunk. I know I spilled wine earlier on my sweater, but I cleaned it up and only those that knew I spilled could tell that I rubbed on my sweater. I don't think he was looking at my wine stain, but who knows. We ended up talking a bit about the Ravens and Thanksgiving. He was telling me that he was a Veteran of Vietnam, and asked if I would sing the last song with him. I told him I wasn't singing, but I'd stand up front with him. The last song was a sing along and it was 'Proud to Be an American.' That was a great way to end the night. Thank goodness I didn't have to stand with him. I figure I'll see him next time I head to the bar.

This morning when I was leaving the house party one of the guys there invited me to a Christmas party in December. I think I already have other plans, but it was nice that he invited me. Don't worry-this guy has a long time girlfriend. I guess he was just being friendly and enjoyed my company. My Thanksgiving weekend turned out ok in the end. I'm thankful for that.
