Human Resources, huh?

Today I decided that I would apply for a different position within my sucky company. I figure that I just need some sort of change TODAY (maybe listening to Man in the Mirror on my iPod is getting to me). So I go to the department head and ask about the position and tell her I'm interested. She says it's fine, but to hurry and apply because they have people interviewing this week. I then go to HR and tell the lady that I'd like an application. She gives it to me with a snotty attitude, and then asks if I went to see the department head, or if the dept. head asked me if I was interested. I told her that I went to see the head. She said 'Oh, I was just wondering.'

Later I take the application back to her and told her that I wasn't comfortable telling the little boss that I was planning on leaving, and if they are interested in interviewing me, I will tell him then. She says "I can't process this application until your supervisor signs this page." I said "Oh, ok. Fine." I walk downstairs and talk to the security guard. In the meantime, the little boss comes over. I tell him I want to change departments and ask if he will sign the paper. I then cross the street to go to my building and I meet the big boss. She says 'Can I talk to you?' I say 'sure.' She asks why I want to leave the department. I am shocked. I asked her how she knew, and she said that the HR lady called the little boss, the little boss told the big boss, the big boss talked to Gabby, and then she ran into me. This is how this place works. I don't really care that much, but I could've changed my mind from the time I left the HR lady's office to the time I got back to my desk. She already had me leaving the department by this afternoon. I can't believe her. I told the big boss that I was marching back over to HR to confront the HR lady. The big boss said "She's a lost cause. Don't talk to her." I laughed.

Can you imagine? If I had a serious problem I could never talk to HR about it because she would tell everyone here what my problem is. I should tell her I have herpes and I need to take a few days off. I wonder how fast that would spread. Probably faster than my supposed herpes. HA!!HA!!
