Babies, Gifts and Books
Crazy Erin is now a new mother of a baby girl named Miranda. She had the baby last night. I'm not sure what her last name will be with all this stuff going down, so we'll just call her Baby Miranda for now.
The interview yesterday was postponed until tomorrow afternoon, and the woman that I interviewed with initially said that I should only be talking to the HR guy for about 1/2 hour, so it seems pretty promising. Keep those fingers crossed.
The other day I was thinking about gifts that people have given me over the years, and they make me laugh. I'm not big on gifts really. I mean, I like them, but I never seem to get what I want, and a lot of gifts go either to my regift pile or my Goodwill pile, but the most random things I end up keeping and liking. Here's a short list.
Univ. of Delaware pajama pants-I used to have a pair of Smith College (MA) pajamas that I wore until about two years ago. I've had them since 1991 probably. hee hee. I loved those flannel pants. Well, they finally had holes in them and I couldn't even wear them to get the mail anymore, so I had to give them up. My sister got me some Delaware pants a couple years ago, and now I can't stop wearing them. That was the perfect gift.
Purple Housecoat-No one wears housecoats anymore except me, apparently. ed got this for me two Christmas' ago. If it's cold in my basement, I put on my housecoat. I wear it with nothing underneath or with a full set of clothes underneath. Love that housecoat more than any jewelry.
Goodyear sheepskin slippers-My boyfriend that lived with me bought me this slippers and I've probably had them for over 6 years now. I wish these slippers were my only memory of him, but they're not. They have a Goodyear tread on them, so you can wear them outside and in the rain, and the soles haven't worn off yet. That was a great buy. He got one thing right.
Montana keychain-A busboy that worked with me at a restaurant went to Montana for vacation. He asked if I wanted anything, and I told him to bring me back a keychain. It has a bear on it, and it just recently broke. I don't know why I chose that keychain to love out of all keychains, but it was perfect for me. People would see it and ask me if I was from Montana, but I always had to say no. Isn't that strange?
Now that I'm writing all these gifts down, I can't think of others, but it's just crazy how some things you really get attached to, and others you're like 'I can't really use that, nor do I want to.' It just made me pause for a few minutes.
Oh, one more gift that everyone can appreciate-A LIBRARY CARD. Get yours today.
