My First Day at Work

Everyone has been asking me if I've been emailing mean things to people, or giving people the finger all day. I'm pleased to say that the answer is a resounding NO. I didn't have a computer and I broke all my fingers last night in a motorcycling accident. hee hee. Typing this is KILLING me with my nubs.

I went to training first thing today. I have two more training sessions next week, so that will be fun. At training I met a girl who works in the labs in another building somewhere. It was interesting how differently the six new hires were dressed. I was in business casual (that's what I wear every day), which consists of closed toe shoes (no rocks in the bottom. hee hee), a striped short sleeve button up shirt that's cute, and grey slacks with the pleats, and dress socks (yes, they have dog fur on them, YB!). The girl I met had jeans and a graphic tshirt on with her tattoo hanging out of her sleeve. There was a lady wearing sandals and a sleeveless shirt, a guy in a polo shirt with a huge briefcase, and another girl wearing shorts and sandals. Shorts and sandals?! In my line of work, I don't even understand that outfit. Perhaps she's in manufacturing/production. I have no idea.

So we learned how to use the computer and phone and whatnot-same old..Then I saw my boss and she was telling me that I'll be getting an AmEx corporate card for travel, and business cards, and whatever else I want. I suggested that I rent a mini-cooper for my traveling, and she said it was an option. HA! I think she loves me. hee hee. I do have to upcoming travel dates. In October, I'll be going to NJ and after that training session I get a raise, and then I'm flying to Nebraska with my old coworker that actually got me the job. Nebraska! Unbelievable. I'm all about it though.

You know how they say that you should never burn your bridges? Well, as I was walking down the hallway to see my boss, this guy that liked me at my old company comes strolling down the hallway. He said "Hey. How are you?" I think he didn't remember my name, but his name is Chris. I remember calling him CB for two reasons. Corned Beef and maybe his last name started with a B. I don't know, but Chris starts with a C, so close enough. He was pretty much just ogling me and making small talk. He is a total player though, so I'm not interested at all, but it was nice seeing him. Oh, we went to lunch one day to this corned beef place. I drove because he rides the bus only, and he didn't even offer to pay for my sandy. I didn't like that. He could've offered. I think all this went down right before I started blogging, but I'm going to check my archives and see if I talked about him. Anyway, whatever. I hope I don't run into him again. He makes me nervous. His eyes are telling way too much.

Like I said, I didn't have a computer, nor a phone, so I was texting YB in my spare time. I was supposed to be reading procedures, but you know how that goes. Yawnfest. We were cracking up. BUT..YB I haven't gotten paid yet, so I can't be spending all my money on text messages. Those Febreze noticeables are still at the top of my payday list. hee hee.

It was a great day. I am so glad to be a productive member of society again.
