Why, why Jaguars??!!!

With the Jaguars scoring 9 points, I didn't win the pool. My total score was 18, and the lowest possible score was 9 (0 for Pittsburgh, 3 for Tampa Bay, and 6 for any other team that scored 6 points). Maybe next week I'll win. I have the Colts, the Seahawks and the Steelers. Let's see some points, guys.

So tutoring last night was really fun. I was there to observe, so I sat in the front row between two students. The girl to my right had no problems, but the woman to my left had a few problems, so I helped when I could. We went over order of operations (Freebird knows all about those), adding and subtracting fractions, and we learned how to read and measure using a ruler. Exciting stuff.

After class, the teacher asked if I would be there on Mondays and Wednesdays. I told him that I would probably show up on Mondays and maybe 1/2 a class on Wednesdays. Then he said 'If you want to alternate classes to teach, I wouldn't mind. I also have a Tuesday/Thursday class, where we go over the same lesson.' I told him that I was fine with volunteering and sitting amongst the students. Really, I was thinking, "Dude, I'm a volunteer. You're getting PAID to teach. If someone wants to pay me, maybe I'll consider it, but right now, I'm chillin' with the others."

The class has students from 18 (one boy looks really young, but I think you have to be 18), to maybe 40. The woman I sat next to was the oldest at maybe 40. I have no idea how old she was. The funny thing about the class, is that the students were just like little kids-using their fingers to do multiplication, getting really excited when they knew the answer, and laughing at the teacher's corny jokes. It was refreshing, and I can't wait to go back tomorrow.

I explained one thing on the board during the break, and the students understood what I was talking about. Maybe I could teach when I retire. Thank God or some president for the 401k. :) HA!!HA!!
