Happy Valentine's Day!!
My Valentine's Day turned out great! First thing in the morning, YB gave me some sweetart hearts with sayings on them. He wrote my name on the box and put a heart with an arrow on it. Too cute! Those make me hot (sweat hot), but I love them, so I ate the whole box anyway, and sat here sweating for a few mintues afterwards. It was well worth it. :)
My other coworker gave me a red pen with a heart and some feathers on it. The heart lights up when you press down on the pen. It has black ink, so I can use it at work. It was very thoughtful of her.
Once work was over, I rushed home and got ready for dinner. All day, it was rainy and gross so I ended up wearing one of my other dresses that I've had for a long time. I knew I would freeze if I wore one of my new dresses. So, Ed and I get dressed, and we head to the restaurant, get valet parking, blah blah. The host sat us at the very back of the restaurant right by a door. I'm not sure if the door went outside or not, but it was draf-ty! Ed suggested we switch seats so it's not so cold for me. We did. Then, he realized that the entire waitstaff would be walking back and forth past us, so we asked if we could change tables. We did. Then, Ed couldn't read the menu, so we had to switch seats again. Now we have warmth and light. Perfect.
We both had seafood bisque, Ed had oysters with crabmeat and cheese on the halfshell, I had a filet with bernaise sauce that was HUGE. I've never seen such a big filet. I think the cow was addicted to miracle-gro. Ed had a 303 combination, which was lobster, crab and one other seafood mixed together and then placed back in the lobster with a champagne sauce. Both of our meals came with green beans and some squash mix (blech!). We also had sangria (mm..mmm), and I got a peach shortcake for dessert. I overdid it on the sangria, and Ed dropped a piece of bread with oysters and cheese on the floor and on his shoes/jacket, but it was well worth it.
Ed did get me a gift. YAY!! He bought me flowers on Saturday (red, pink and white carnations), and yesterday he gave me round emerald earrings with diamonds around the outside. They are really nice. I hope I don't lose them. I gave him a white gold ring with a sapphire across the top and two diamonds on opposing sides of the sapphire. Very classy and understated. He was in shock. I'm glad I gave it to him.
I had an awesome Valentine's Day with my valentine. Next year, we're getting the small pitcher of sangria. :)

Emerald and diamond earrings?! Wow!! Hey, I'm curious, and I'm asking you this for a reason - not just to be nosy.
Are you guys by any chance an interracial couple? John's white and I'm Hispanic and its seems like whenever we go out to restaurants we always get seated by the kitchen. This happened this past Saturday as well. When you said you guys got seated by the kitchen it made me curious.
Yes we are Freebird. Ed's white, and I'm obviously black. :) I never thought about the whole kitchen thing. I think it was just random though because there was another interracial couple and they were sitting near the front walkway.
Ropemonkey-I think everyone's different as far as Valentine's gifts go. Last year I think I just gave Ed a card.
Egghe-thanks!
sounds like you had a nice time :)
