The King and I
Ed and I went to see The King and I last night at the theatre. It was amazing! The costumes, the story and the singing were the best I had ever seen. I didn't know the story so I was going in just to enjoy the show. I had heard rave reviews about it, but I seriously had no idea how great it was going to be. Stephanie Powers did a fantastic job, and the schoolchildren were adorable. There was one black princess (or wife of the King or whatever). I thought that was kind of funny.
Here's a funny. Ed and I were the last ones in our row to get into our seats. We usually like to get a beer beforehand and walk around and look at the decorations around the theatre or look at the old pictures and programs. Well, we got to our row and there was a really fat couple sitting on the end, and there were four empty seats and two ladies at the other end. The usher was standing with us, and Ed said 'maybe we should go around.' I said that we were going to have to cross two people anyway, so why not just go in here. Well, everyone is at a standstill staring at each other basically. I finally said 'excuse me' and made the fat people get up. For them, I guess it's the worse thing that ever happened because they were huffing and puffing and trying to get out of the seat. Aahh..sitting at last. At intermission we crossed the ladies to our right.
Oh, before we left for the show, I made dinner. I don't make dinner often but yesterday was a special occasion. I got a recipe off TVFN (TV food network) for Italian meatloaf. It was SO good. If anyone wants the recipe, let me know. I have never chosen a bad recipe from that website. The meatloaf finished cooking just in time (6:45). I also had mixed vegetables and crescent rolls. I'm not the biggest fan of meatloaf but every once in a while I want it, and last night was the night.
And yes..I looked AWESOME! It's so nice going somewhere and being dressed appropriately. I mean, I am usually dressed appropriately, but I was happy to be able to kick it up a notch, and really look and feel like I belonged. Come springtime they will be seeing me in chaps and a leather jacket when Ed and I ride in. :) It's the only way to go as far as parking.
