Made in the USA
Do you realize how hard it is to find anything that's made in the USA anymore?
This past weekend I was doing laundry and I asked Ed to play a game with me. Guess how many countries I have clothes from. He guessed 10, but I lost count reading all the labels. I basically have something made everywhere except Canada.
The only thing I could find that was Made in the USA were a pair of grey corduroys that I bought at Abercrombie and Fitch. So..the company that markets sex and slutty clothes to gay teenagers is the only company that has things made in the USA? Wonderful. They weren't cheap either, but I loved them for many years.
I told you the other day that I bought three pairs of Levis. All there were made in a different country. Guatemala, Brazil and Mexico. But, they still had that San Francisco, CA patch on the outside where everyone looks. Crazy, huh?
A few of the countries on the list were Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan, China. Where are the German or Swiss clothes? Hmm..maybe I should try to get a pair of clothing from each country. I bet that would be a feat. I think the African nations would be difficult to find. I also bet it would be tricky to find something from Lichtenstein. It's such a small country.
Do some research and see what you can find.

That's crazy! I bet my wardrobe is the same way.
Hey, it's beer day, and I've started a campaign on my site to bring back my favorite beer. Check it out!
I have never really examined my wardrobe to that extent. I do have Birkenstocks made in Germany though. I wonder what's in my closet.
That's interesting. I'm going to have to start looking. What they should all say is Made in Third World Country. Is anything made in the USA anymore??
i would have to look really hard for an american product in my wardrobe. my shoes (skechers or converse) are made in china. most of my clothes are made in vietnam, bangladesh, china, etc.
didn't converse used to be made in the usa? what happened? damn cheap labor.
This is true - I once bought a block of "Scottish Cheddar Cheese" and on the back it said 'Made in Ireland'...
Because Nike bought Converse, that's why!
