BS Friday
I have been thinking about this all week and what story I will share/make up. You be the judge. There are two stories that happened around the same time, so vote for each one. Good luck.
In 3rd grade, I went to my first public school. There were all sorts of fun things going on at school. For one, I could wear pants. At my private school I had to wear dresses every day. Initially I thought I was going to wear dresses every day to my new school, but that didn't last long. I was playing on the bars one day and I was wearing my new jean skirt with a slit in the back of it. You know the style..well, my skirt slit opened even higher and you could totally see my underwear. All the girls laughed because I didn't have on shorts underneath. No one told me I was supposed to wear shorts underneath! From that day on, I started playing kickball with the boys and hardly ever wore a dress/skirt to school.
Also in third grade, I was the class champion for the spelling bee. I had to go to the school tryouts later that week. I had my Spelling Bee newspaper, and I was spelling my heart out. Every word I could think of I was spelling it. I thought I had the newspaper words solid, and I got on stage with the rest of the students. My word was raspberry. I thought I had this one in the bag. I spelled 'R-A-S-B-E-R-R-Y." The kids in my class started cheering for me, but I lost. I forgot the P. I was so sad. My sister consoled me as well as my friend Tracey. Tracey kept telling me that I got it right and that they made a mistake and they would be calling me any minute to put me back in the contest. No one ever called to tell me I was right.
