I Need a Buddy
I've been looking at the Maryland SPCA site once a week or so for about a month now. I look at the different dogs that are up for adoption and love every one. I haven't gotten up enough nerve to actually walk in and look at the dogs in real life. The big boss just left, so maybe I'll take a long lunch.
I went to my parent's house on Monday to help my dad email some pictures that he took, but I wasn't able to email him because the files were too big, and their computer was too slow.
My older sister has been away on business/training for about a month, and of course, my parents have been watching both of her huskies. Loki, my favorite, ran away on Sunday, and he was confined to the laundry room. He broke the cable the he usually stays on and took off. My dad had to chase him down the street. Kobe sits outside next to the house ALL day. Since Kobe is the country dog, he doesn't go anywhere. Too bad Jemma couldn't take after Kobe. But..Kobe is fat now and Jemma was skinny, so it was obvious who liked running around and who liked sitting next to the house.
Yes, these three stories are coming together at some point, I'm just getting my thoughts together.
While I was waiting for the pictures to go through, I was playing with Loki in the laundry room and my dad says 'You know. Your sister really wanted you to watch Loki while she was gone.' I said 'Oh yeah? Well, having a dog is a big responsibility, and I don't know that I'm up to it.' My mom said 'What did you say?' I repeated myself, and she said 'That's what I told you guys every time you and your sisters wanted a new dog. That's about 3 times.' I started laughing and said 'I was just kidding. I'm getting used to not having Jemma around. Loki may cramp my style.' Both of my parents were thinking 'What style?' HA!!HA!!
So, my parents were getting tired of watching Loki apparently, and they know that I love Loki and wouldn't mind watching him BUT my sister never called me, so I passed on watching him this time around. Their loss. Maybe they will suggest that she call me next time.
And the point of today's story is............I REALLY WANT TO GET ANOTHER DOG (but I have to wait until riding season is over, where I can spend quality time with it. It's not fair to get a new dog now or else I'll totally turn into my sister). Oh, and I ended up taking my dad's camera home and emailing the pictures from my house.

Glad you are a responsible dog owner -many people would just go get the dog and leave it @ home alone all the time---not fair.
Come Fall-keep us posted on your dog search!
