Mom-Mom's New Digs
Yesterday Ed, my brother and I went to PA to help move Mom-mom into the assisted living community. She was a nervous wreck. She kept thinking about all the things she didn't have, or didn't pack. Of course, my mom had everything ready. Mom-mom even said "I didn't know I was moving in today," although she had called all her friends and let them know that she would have a new number and stuff. She's silly.
We got to the place right at 12:30, and about 10 of the older people were sitting outside enjoying the nice weather (it's been in the 80s here, which is great). Mom-mom's seating for lunch is at 12:30, so I checked her into the dining room while we moved her stuff into her room. Around 1:30 she came back to her room, and was happy about lunch. She said the food was good and she sat with three other people. When I dropped her off, I didn't see one other black person. It was just a bunch of old, white people. I have seen one other black lady in the place, but I didn't see her in the dining room. She may have been in the first seating. Anyway, maybe Mom-mom will be nice to these people and inherit some of their $$ when they move on. How funny would that be?? hee hee. Not that people are dying, but that they don't have anyone to give their riches to, and Mom-mom's in the right place at the right time. Fine..it's funny to me.
I think she'll be happy there, which makes me happy. They have yoga this morning at 9:30. I think Mom-mom will NOT be participating in that. hee hee.
I filed my last unemployment statement hopefully for life this morning. It's been rough getting up every morning and being productive. I have to get back in the groove of things. I have training on Mon/Tue, so I can sleep in a little. I'm looking forward to that.
I went to the Ravens game on Friday night and saw my old friend Diane who convinced me to get my motorcycle license. I hadn't seen her in a long time. She started crying from joy. It almost made me start crying, but there's no crying at football games, so I refrained. I hope we can catch up this weekend. I need some girl time.
Today, I'm off to church and then who knows what. I might wash my bike. It's really dirty.
