Quick Note
YB and I went to the aquarium today. We both took off work, had lunch with our old coworkers, and then we headed to the Harbor. The weather was nice, and we found a free 2 hour parking spot. That rules. It's hard to find parking in the city.
As we're going to the main exhibit, a small girl and her two friends are playing keep away with a blue, koosh kind of ball. It had the strings on the end, but it was soft. The girl tosses it to her friend, but she throws it wildly, and it falls onto the down escalator. She yells to her friends, 'I'll get it!' Bob and I were going up the up escalator, and the mom or chaperone is yelling 'Stop yelling!' End of story.
1.5 hours later, YB and I are heading down the stairs because the escalator wasn't working. We look at the bottom of the escalator, and what's stuck in the bottom? The remains of the girl's blue ball. The aquarium man was standing there trying to pick the blue stuff out of the escalator. We told the guy that we saw that girl throw the ball and it went onto the escalator. He told us that kids' shoelaces get stuck in there a lot of times, and the chaperones have to be careful.
I felt bad because I laughed at the kid getting his toe mangled from wearing a fake Croc shoe, but it's really not funny. oops.
I wanted to tell the man 'The girl was white, with blonde hair, and wearing a pink shirt!' but I didn't. I wonder what she did when she started going down the escalator and it came to a screeching halt.
YB has all the pictures from the day. I think we took a couple good ones.
