I Amaze Myself
I don't know how one person can be so interested in everday life and the random occurrences/things surrounding them.
Every day at tutoring we usually do a brainteaser. The majority of the time it's looking at a bunch of logos or symbols and figuring out where they belong. I'm REALLY good at the brainteaser although the exercise isn't for me. Why do I know the symbols for Hilton, Kodak, RCA just by looking at one letter of their name or their logo? My dad always said that curious people are smart people. I guess I'll chalk it up to be smart and aware.
Another tutoring story-one girl was bragging that she didn't need to know how to read or find coordinates on a map/grid because her car and cell phone have navigation. Who brags about not being able to read a map? I was ready to tell her that she didn't need to share her ignorance with the rest of the class, but I didn't. I'm getting older and wiser, I guess.
Tonight at the theater, I saw 12 Angry Men. It was excellent. I had to read the play in high school, and for some strange reason it stuck with me. I remembered the story, I remembered the clincher, I remembered it all. The play had George Wendt (Norm from Cheers) and Richard Thomas (John Boy from the Waltons). There was also a guy named Todd Cerveris. For some reason, I remembered the last name. Moxie, the Single Girl as I have her linked, used to have a crush on Michael Cerveris. When I got home, I looked online and I found out that they are brothers. Why would I remember some random guy's last name, and apply it to my life today? Who knows.
Bottom Line: The things my dad says are always right. I take after him. Sometimes. :)
