My House is Driving Me Crazy
I went by Lowe's today to pick up a gift card for my brother. He's moving into a new place soon and I figure 50 bucks can get him some wall hooks and maybe a curtain or two. I don't know what he wants. But, that's not the point right now.
I stopped by the paint section, and I'm this close (squeezing my fingers together, I mean actually touching) to biting the bullet on painting my bedroom and my bathroom. They are both pretty small, so I think it's a good start for me, but I'm scared. One quart of paint costs 12.00. hee hee. If I hate the color I can always change it, but still, the whole process kind of freaks me out.
I've picked a burnt orange for the bathroom. I am still debating between Harvest Sun and Desert Sierra but it's really burnt orange. I bought a floor rug (who knows what they are officially called) from Sears a month or so ago, and it has stripes and all these different red, orangy, coral colors. I like it, and I want my bathroom to be kind of southwestern. I'll enjoy it when I'm pooping out my tacos. You know that's my resolution for New Years, right? I plan to eat a taco a day. I'm never going to succeed, but I like the idea. I'll probably eat my standard 20 in a year, and that's fine. Oh, and I have to do a little spackling. I don't want bumpy walls.
The color I want for the bedroom is butter yellow. Maybe lemon yellow-lemonade, perhaps. You get the idea. I don't know why I want my bedroom so cheery, but I do. All I do once I go into my bedroom is sleep, so I think I can deal with yellow for two seconds. The color I picked is creamy oat. Now, I don't really understand why creamy oat is yellow, but it is. I liked it at the store, and I liked it when I held the swatch up to my wall. I used the fan light and the lamp and it rocks with both lights. I will have to buy a gallon for the bedroom, but I think I'm ready.
I measured the bathroom today, and I will buy the bathroom paint this Friday when I get paid. I'm taking it easy on Friday to wrap gifts and paint. My lighting is horrible, so I doubt I'll take pictures, but if I really like it, watch out.
