Someone Just Like Me
The internet is a really crazy thing. When I first started using it, it was just for school projects. I never used it for "pleasure" purposes. It was strictly informational. Then, when more companies started making websites, I would go online and order a free bag of Jelly Belly's, or sign up for some brochure on vacationing. It started becoming more and more fun. Some days I love having such quick access to everything at the drop of a hat. Other days I think that since everything is right at my fingertips I don't have to leave my house if I don't want to, nor do I have to think about where I can find the information. It's all right here.
This morning I was reading a website, women's wall street. There is a woman who has a monthly article called Stox in the City. She is 29 (almost 30), and she writes about her life adventures. Kind of like financial blog. :) She seems different than me in some ways (she likes to shop), but in other ways, her stories sound just like mine. She was hanging out with a guy that didn't have a job, and she eventually kicked him out of the apt..blah blah. It's like those women that watch Oprah and see the guests and say 'that's me. I can totally relate to that woman and her story'. Well since I work now, I don't have a lot of time for Oprah, and her fans are a little older than me, so I can't relate to a lot of the people on her show. But through the internet, I've found and read about people that sound just like me, and it's kind of neat. Not that I ever felt like I was the only one going through some things, but it's nice to actually READ that others are currently going through things that I have been through or are going through. Today is a day that I like the internet.
