Lock and Load

I mean, Lock and Lock. Last Friday, Yankeebob and I went out to lunch and had sushi with another coworker. He was supposed to be eating his wife's (I know you hate that word) chicken corn chowder, so instead he gave it to me. It was excellent soup. It was in a container that says lock and lock, and it's a plastic container with locks that are similar to those on a safe. You have to press them down really hard, but there are locks on all three sides of the container so there is no chance that your soup or grapes will spill out. It's great, and I had never seen it before. Today, I returned the container to him, and he said that Noleen (sp?) just picked them up at the store, and I could have it if I wanted, so I accepted. I am the 'girl that never says no.' I told YB that on Friday and then said 'that's why all the boys like me.'

I seriously, never say no when someone offers to give me something or do something for me. I just don't have it in my vocabulary to turn something down. If they want me to clean a bathroom, I'm the first to say 'no, not it, no way jose', but if they say 'do you want this candybar? I have an extra one.' I'm all about it. If they say 'I have this toaster oven that I've never used, do you want it?' Of course I do. I have never had a toaster oven in my life, but all of a sudden it's the best thing since sliced bread! 'I'm running by the grocery store, do you need something?' 'Oh yes, I need a Lipton peach iced tea and some cheddar cheese pretzel Combos. Thanks!' HA!!HA!! It makes me laugh thinking of all these situations, but it's the truth.

Some people have a hard time accepting offers for things, or it makes them feel guilty. I don't know where I got this habit from, but it's nothing bad, so why not. You may never have the chance again to get a free toaster oven, or a peach iced tea, or a free, heavy duty plastic container. In the great words of Smoky in the Friday movies, 'Take advantage man, take advantage.'

Why feel guilty? I think that if a person wasn't sincere in their offer, they wouldn't do it. If there is something I don't want, I will not accept, but I live a very simplistic life, so most things I take, I most likely need. hee hee.

V-thanks for stopping by.
