Taxes Update
Well, things went well yesterday. My dad's typing is really improving and he was happy to hear me compliment him. He still asked me why I haven't found a church to go to (groan), but he was pleased with the amount that I have given to charity. I still have work to do in the charity department, but this year I gave to five different charities instead of three last year. He said I can deduct about 1/2 of my income if I gave it to charities. I'm kind, but not that kind. I need to save for my future, but I'll give what I can.
I ended up getting about 1500 from the feds and 500 from the state. Maybe you're not supposed to talk about how much money you get back, but I'll share anyway. That's lower than last year, so I'm doing something right. I had a 2 on my tax statement this year and last year I had a 1, so I think adding that extra deduction or whatever those numbers mean, helped.
Once my dad finished doing my taxes he wanted to shake my hand like I was a regular walk-in customer. I shook his hand and then hugged him. My dad is too cute. I'll have to find a picture of him so you can see what he looks like. He's always smiling (I guess I get that from him). I think I'll get my money by the end of the month. Just in time to pay my credit card bills from my shopping spree. YAY!!!
