Tourist Traps

So as you guys know I have company for the week. I think I wrote about that yesterday, but a lot happened yesterday so I don't really remember.
Anyway, today I was planning on dropping them off at the MD Science Center for the afternoon. I was going to go home at lunchtime, pick them up and then drop them off while I finish the rest of my day. I looked at the prices and it's like 18 bucks a person. I get off work at 3:30, so they would only be there for 4 hours at the most and the center closes at 5, so 5 hours at the ABSOLUTE most. No wonder people that live around here don't know anything about the science center. For a mom and her two kids to go visit, it costs 54 bucks!! That doesn't even include food or a souvenir or a drink. Unbelievable.
Ok, so what about the aquarium? The National Aquarium in Baltimore is top notch, I guess I can drop them off there instead of the Science Center. Well, it's the same deal. 18 bucks unless your kid is under three or it's Friday after 5. After 5 it's only 5 dollars, so I guess we'll have to save that activity for Friday and try to figure out another fun activity for the kids. I had no idea these places were so expensive. I haven't been to the aquarium in a long time and I went to the Science center maybe last year for the Titanic exhibit. *sigh*
No wonder no one wants to visit Baltimore. It's WAY too expensive! Right now I wish I lived closer to Washington DC. Everything there is free and there's way more to see.
