Happy Fourth of July!

Allright kids, it's the weekend and time for me to go on another vacation. I just love summertime.

Sunday morning I will head out to Hagerstown, MD for the Motor Maids convention. That's my women's motorcycle group. This year we are celebrating out 65th anniversary. I'm responsible for being the hostess of the birthday party on Wednesday night, so wish me luck with it. I think everything will go fine, but I'm always nervous. We're having cake, ice cream, a hula hoop contest, a slideshow, Jeopardy and some short interviews with our 50+ year members (yeah, they're old. hee hee). I think it will be fun.

Friday morning Ed and I will be leaving Hagerstown and heading to the northwestern point in MD (Asher Glade) as well as hitting the high point (Backbone Mountain). From there we're headed to Blackwater Falls in WV. Blackwater Falls is awesome. I went there twice when I was in college. One year I almost got frostbite because it was so cold. The falls were frozen. Luckily I was smart enough to know that if I snowshoed one mile from the overnight lodge to the main lodge and my hands were already cold, I wouldn't survive an actual day of snowshoeing in that weather. Another girl did get frostbite. But I digress. The following year, we were in shorts all weekend and couldn't even go snowing if we were paid to. So, this time around, I'll be riding, and I can't wait to go. We might go to Spruce Knob, the high point of WV, but that depends on what the rest of the group is doing.
