Argyle and Corduroy
I was talking to Freebird the other day (well, commenting through blogger-close enough), and I mentioned that I would love to buy something argyle, but I know as soon as I buy it, it's going out of style. Now, I'm never the most stylish person. Well, I'm never stylish. I just have tons of basics that last years and years, but I'm really freaking out about this argyle.
This is how obsession works in my head. I had that conversation the other day. Then I got a new Jcrew catalog in the mail. They know that I only like to buy their stuff in the winter, mostly sweaters, but it's getting a bit brisk, so they sent me the catalog. What do you know? There's a lady wearing a yellow and pink/beige, argyle cardigan sweater over a button down shirt. Hmmm..I could wear that, and look pretty cute in it. Then today at work, a lady was wearing an argyle sweater. I think it's my destiny.
In the meantime, I'm still obsessed with corduroy. I bought 4 pairs of corduroy pants last winter/spring. Last week, I went to Old Navy looking for some cute tshirts like the ones I bought in March, and of course, they no longer sell them. I did see some lightweight corduroy pants, so I bought two pairs-olive and beige. I can't believe they had my size. I think it was because I was in the store right before the back-to-school crew came through. I can never find 2L at that store.
I think I will love corduroys forever. I can't wait until they're worn in the knee, and I can put a patch on them. I guess I could put a patch on them anytime, but I'm into authenticity, not that fake "worn" look.
Maybe I should be obsessed with socks. When the elastic at the top doesn't stretch anymore and they look like Mama's knee highs (from Mama's Family), it's time for a new pair. HA! I kill me.

You wear a 2??!?!?!?! I'm very jealous!!!
I really wear whatever size fits. I have all ranges of clothes. Sometimes I even buy stuff that I think fits, but it's really too big for me. Then I just look dumb. But that's ok. That's why they make belts and seamstresses.
