Never go to Safeway in Bmore
On Saturday I went to Safeway to pick up some potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, and maybe 1 or 2 other things. The Safeway near my house always has the longest express lines so there is no sense in even going to the express. It's a lot easier to just go in a regular line and you usually get through quicker. Well, Saturday, I don't know what it was, but everyone in the greater Baltimore area was in this Safeway and only 4/15 lanes were open. You would think that 4 lanes being open on a Saturday afternoon is plenty, but it wasn't. Everyone in line was in a grouchy mood and they hadn't even been in line for 2 minutes at this point. Finally, the customer service lady announces 'all cashiers, please report to a lane immediately.' Everyone in line gets happy thinking that we're going to get through the lanes in the next few minutes. Well, no one opened a new lane. We waited and waited, and it didn't even matter that the customer service person made an announcement. Everyone was antsy once again, and getting madder by the minute. After 3 more minutes, finally a guy opens a lane. People shuffled over there, and I stayed in my lane. I wait for about 5 more minutes and I'm finally on my way out. I said to the lady next to me 'well, that wasn't so bad now that we're on the other side.' She just laughed and said 'See you later!' I thought to myself, 'I hope not because i'm not going back to that Safeway.' Some days I think that Safeway should become a Union because Superfresh and Giant are in unions and their stores are nice, and I don't mind going there. The only problem is that Safeway is right around the corner, so I go there for convenience and get screwed every time. Will I never learn?
