I Won a Prize

I have good news to report everyone! I am a winner in the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Small Town Tour-2004. When I first started this blog, I know I mentioned going to Columbia, VA. That is the smallest town in VA. I believe I also mentioned taking a day trip to Port Tobacco, MD. Well, those were just two of the small towns on the list of 50 that I had an option of going to.
If you went to three towns, took a picture of yourself and your motorcycle with the town name, you get one chance to win a new set of tires. If you went to 6 towns, you get two chances. If you get 10 towns, you get a plaque. Guess how many I went to?

11 Small Towns. I'll just name the states: Virginia, Maryland, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Delaware, North Carolina, Arkansas, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. It says that the plaque says something about going to 1/5 of the United States by motorcycle. I can't wait to get it, although it will probaby be so cheesy. What if it has my name on it? They better spell my name right..or ELSE!

Another winner was a man that went to 46/50 states. He didn't go to Alaska and Hawaii, obviously, but he also didn't go to Massachusetts or Rhode Island. I'm going to have to look on my map and see what and where those towns were because if he was in Connecticut, he could have easily gone to Mass, and RI. I think he was just being a slacker. hee hee. It said something about money or you had to take a ferry and couldn't get there by bike, but if he has traveled over the entire US, what's a few dollars to get to the other state? Ok, I'm just mad that the man can ride his bike everywhere and I can't. I'm happy for him.

There was also a prize for best picture. I took a similar picture to the one that won, except I didn't have the curvy road in mine. I just had my bike in the ditch with the sign behind my bike. The winner had his bike in the street. I wouldn't leave my bike on the street for cars to hit. I would be stuck in the middle of Gilbert, AR-population 33, with no ride. Not such a good idea.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a happy moment with you guys. Have a great weekend!!

No anonymous, I had no idea you were in TN. hee hee. The small town is in Silerton, which is in western TN. My grandparents are in Gates, which is another small town an hour east of Memphis, but still on the west side.

Hustleman, you should learn to ride. Everyone should. It's awesome, and hey, thanks for visiting. :)
