Friday Randoms

I have so much I want to tell you guys, but I know I won't remember it all, so I'll have to be like YoJ and just post a million different tidbits.

1) I went out to dinner last night at Bandaloops. There was no O's game, so parking was fine. I wore those black mules with my same work clothes and as soon as I checked to see if I paid the meter, I stubbed my toe on the crooked sidewalk. So there I am trying to cross the street, and I can hardly walk because it hurt so bad. I stumble into the restaurant and ask for a table in the back. The hostess says 'are you alone?' with this snobby face on, and I said 'yes.' Then she sat me in the back corner. I wanted to be away from the bar (too rowdy for me last night), but she acted like I was some freak of nature. My food was good though. I had a salad, rockfish with crabmeat on top in a garlic wine sauce, and mashed red potatoes. I also had a glass of Australian Shiraz/Cabernet. Don't ask me why I got that because I'm not really a fan of shiraz or cabernet. hee hee. I just ordered it anyway. My toe is still hurting.

2) Ed invited me to go see Leann Rimes at the Hippodrome on Saturday. His coworkers/bosses are supposedly going, so he thought it would be good to hobnob with the higher ups. I don't know anything about Leann Rimes except that she's blonde, used to sing country and still may, and that I think she's married now, and that she's pretty young. I told him I'd go just because he wants to get another week of vacation and it would be fun to see his bosses in a different light, etc..So the tickets cost 50 bucks each. Fine. Last night I talked to him and he told me that the company has paid for our tickets, we are going to a reception with heavy h'ors doevres (sp?) beforehand, and a dessert reception afterwards where we can meet her AND..we have VIP Premier seating. I don't know how this all came about, but I'll take advantage of the heavy h'ors doevres. hee hee. I'm a mess. I am a little excited about this shindig. Ed tried to bust on me and tell me not to wear my corduroys and a sweater. The only day I wore cords was the day I was feeling sick, during Oklahoma. Why does he remember bad stuff?

3) I think I'm going to buy a small investment house in western Tennessee. My grandparents live out there, and my dad is down there for a month or so visiting his family. He has my sisters' dogs and they are all having a grand time. I told my dad that next time Jemma would like to go. He said I have to discuss it with my younger sister. See how they treat me? Their dogs can all go to TN, but when I want mine to go, I have to discuss...whatever. Jemma hates TN. hee hee. Actually, she does like it down there. The house is 4000 dollars. That's a steal. It's nothing big, according to my dad, but a lot of people are moving south and redoing neighborhoods and developments. If I can get this house for cheap now, the property value will only go up. Maybe there are a couple I can buy.

4)When I called my dad at my grandparent's house, Grandpa Freddie said 'so, do you have more money to send us for the library?' and then he laughed. I told him it's only May and we'll see what I can scrounge up. He really appreciated my gift to the library, so that made me happy. He said it is in the 90s down there, and he was sitting on the swing out front, but had to come inside at 9am because it was already too hot. He usually can sit out there until 12. Ahh..the life of a country man. It's so nice. Where's the lemonade/sweet iced tea in the Mason jar. That completes the life.
