Hello Hello!

As you have probably noticed, I'm busier hanging out at home than I was at work. I had all the time in the world to read blogs, check blogs, post blogs when I was getting paid. hee hee. But..I'm stopping in temporarily to say hey and update you on my life.

Ryan had a World Cup soccer party all weekend. I hung out Friday day, but didn't get to attend any of the evening festivities. I really wanted to go to karaoke on Saturday (what is wrong with me?), but I didn't. Oh well. Maybe next weekend will be a good day for me to belt out some tunes. I am going over there today for the USA/Czech game at noon. Can't wait!

I went to church yesterday and finally joined. The members there were not constantly hounding me, but they liked me and wanted to join. I figured yesterday would be a good day. They gave me the right hand (hug rather) of fellowship, and now I'm a full fledged member. I have been going since February, and I really like my church. I think I only missed 3 services (I missed becuase I was away for motorcycle vacations). Not bad, huh? More on this in a minute.

I went to a Pilates class last Wednesday, and my shoulders were sore for like three days. We had to put a medicine ball over our heads while lying on our back. I didn't think it was hard, but I guess my shoulders are out of shape, because I could hardly move my arms the rest of the week.

I called last week about volunteering for an adult literacy program, and they have orientation sessions in August and September. It's too bad that it's so far away, but I'm going to sign up. I can give back by volunteering some of my time, and I think I'm a good teacher/reader. hee hee. So...on that note, when I was in Sunday School yesterday, one of the deacons came up to me and said 'you really are a good reader. You sound like a teacher. I wish someone would help me read better.' He misses a lot of words, or doesn't know how to sound them out. I told him that if he wanted help, I would be willing to help him. Next week I'll get his number, and maybe we can do some reading work. That would be a good start for me in the meantime. Funny how things work out (or in church speak, the lord works in mysterious ways...HA!).

As far as work goes, I've been contacted by several headhunters/recruiters, and a couple people I know are looking for people, so I think I'm ok on that end. The unemployment people are supposed to call me today to discuss my situation. I wrote on the form that I got discharged, terminated, fired. The HR lady might have said I got laid off. I'm not sure what's going on, but they're calling me at 10:30. For now, the plan is for me to stay out of work until Mid July. There is a Motor Maid convention in Canada in the middle of the week, and I want to take the whole week off so no sense starting work before then, and then taking off, so I hope I can finagle that deal.

That's it for me. Long and sweet. Hope everyone is doin well. I miss you guys, big time.
