Freedom

I was supposed to be in charge of a motorcycle event in Delaware this weekend. Last year, this ride occurred on the first weekend in October. Well, it was cold and rainy, so my district of the Motor Maids decided to change the date to August so it would be warmer and a lot more pleasant. Well, as of yesterday afternoon only two people had reserved rooms. I really didn't feel like riding up to DE to see the same ladies that I can see in MD or VA at any other Motor Maid function. I called the NJ director as well as the PA director to see if they knew of anyone who was planning on attending. They both said no. So, I cancelled the event. I'm sad in a way because I did have a nice ride laid out and DE isn't too bad for riding in some areas, but now I'm happy because I have the whole weekend to myself. The funny thing is that I have already made plans to meet up with someone who lives in West Chester, PA on Saturday. She is about to move to FL, so I wanted to see her before she left. West Chester is a little bit northwest of Wilmington, so I'm actually going past where I had planned, but it's ok because I WANT to go. I might even ride over to my grandmother's house. She would freak out actually seeing me on my bike in front of her house, but better late than never. Friday, I think I will ride around town, and Sunday I think I will go on a ride with the ABATE group since I haven't gone on any rides with them this year. I'm so happy my weekend will be empty. *wink.
