Here are two pictures from yesterday.

No Work Fridays

Isn't that ideal?
Unfortunately, I just got a new project assigned to me when I already have a million other projects on my schedule. The worst thing about this project is that it has been asigned to me and cguy. I asked him if he was going to the meeting and he said yes. So then why do I have to go? I don't know anything about the project, what's been done in the past etc..He's been responsible for this project for a while.

I know why I have to go. It's because cguy is incompetent and the only way it will get done is if I'm on the project also. Grr..

Second thing, there is a meeting from 11-12. I eat lunch at 11:30. I am going to hate missing my lunchtime because of a stupid meeting. Do you dare me to take wheat thins with me and munch on them? HA!!HA!!

Happy Friday peeps!

Today's funny

My coworker sends me this email a minute ago.

'I've decided to stop dipping and take up smoking. I smoked in my car this morning with all the windows rolled up.'

WHAT?!!! hee hee.

Take Your Kid to Work Day

Today is the day. The little boss asked if there were any volunteers to give a presentation to the kids. My coworker volunteered so I offered to help. Our presentation was really cool. After our vice president spoke (boring), I made the kids (about 6) get up and do some stretches. One kid asked the VP what flexible meant and she said 'well I can't do cartwheels.' "HELLO!! We're not at happy hour lady, you're giving a presentation to a bunch of kids between the ages of 7-15." I think our VP is really bad with her kids and she's jut too dumb to be answering questions. See what I have to deal with?

We gave them thermocouples (temperature measuring devices) and had them see what temperatures their hands were. Then we had them put the thermocouples in cold and warm water and watch the temperature on the screen rise. Then we gave them a word search and candy, asked if they had questions, and then lined them up with pieces of paper spelling out the word Validation. They were happy because they got to move around, yell and eat candy. What a fun time.

Suddenly Seymour

..standing beside you..la-la-la.

Little Shop of Horrors was outstanding!! I don't know what else to say. As soon as the people started coming onstage I remembered everything about the movie that I had seen many many moons ago. Steve Martin as the dentist, Rick Moranis as Seymour, Gina and Pam from Martin as the sideline singers. Such memories. This show was even better than the movie.
It was really cool how the plant moved and talked just like in the movie. In the end, this guy with knee and elbow pads popped out of the plants mouth and started waving at everyone. I waved back. I'm like a little kid in the theater. Those people are singing to me, and looking at me! I have to wave back. hee hee.
If you've been following my blog since the early days, there is a fat couple that sits on the end of our row. Well, Ed and I are always the last people in our row to get to our seats. So, he suggested we cross the fat people on the aisle instead of bothering the 6 or 8 on the other side. I told him it probably wasn't a good idea, but we did it anyway. The fat people huffed and puffed, but they finally got out of their seats and moved. Ed said 'maybe this will be motivation for them to lose weight.' I doubt it will though. They already bought the aisle seats knowing they would want some extra space, but if you're in the aisle, don't you know people will want to cross by you? I wonder why I keep saying cross. I think I should say pass by. I'm not really sure which word is more correct.
Savion Glover (from 'Bring in the Noise, Bring in the Funk') will be tap dancing his heart out on May 4-5. I think I might get tickets for my mom for mother's day to go see the show with us. I know she'll want to come by my house and visit, but I'd prefer if we just go went to eat. It's a weekday, so I'm not sure if she's into it. I'll call and find out. My sisters and I treated her to Bring in the Noise a couple years ago in NY city. She loved it. So..I can see my secret boyfriend on stage again, my mom and dad will be happy and I will be happy.

Random Comments

I still have to upload some of my pictures from the party. I'll try to get that done this afternoon.

I found out that Jemma was not a good dog this weekend at my sister's house. She was getting into fights with my younger sister's dog who was visiting also. Jemma just can't get along with others. I guess I spoil her too much. I don't really know what it is. My sisters are kind of weak though, so I'm sure even if they were growling at each other, my sisters would make a much bigger deal out of it. Oh well. I'm just glad to have my bird back.

I went to bed last night around 9pm. I was still pretty tired from the party and the ride home and all that good stuff. I didn't even get to watch Three's Company. I have been watching that lately from 11pm-12am. It's so funny to crack up at the confusion every episode. I watched part of "How Do I Look" and then I saw a glimpse of Medium and went right to bed. Monday TV sucks.

We have a companywide meeting this afternoon. My fingers are crossed that it's lame. I don't want to hear anything bad. I'd be more than happy to sit through a boring meeting today.

I'm Home Honey!!

Did you guys miss me? I headed to Newport News for my friend Emmie's big blowout of a party. I left home on Thursday afternoon and returned yesterday around five. It was colder inside my house than it was outside, and I think it was only in the 50s outside. Thank GOD for a heated jacket and heated gloves. I feel bad for those with snow the last few days. That has got to suck.

I would love to share what happened over the weekend, but what happens at Emmie's stays at Emmie's. hee hee. I will say I was being a heckler and got kicked out of the party on Friday night. Luckily they let me back in on Saturday. :)

Emmie, I had a great time, and I miss you and can't wait to see you again.

Peer Pressure

I'm such a sucker. People, you do not know how influential YB is. You think he's your friend and then he totally just gets in your head and makes you do things you don't want to do.

Every Tuesday is burger day at this restaurant/bar down the street. We all go there on Tuesdays. YB likes to get this spicy stuff to put in his coleslaw. They used to make the coleslaw spicy, but now they don't so he asks for the spices on the side. Well, Spacebrain went to put some in and YB said to him 'That's not enough. You didn't even put any on your coleslaw.' Spacebrain said 'I just want to taste it.' Then he said 'Ok, I'll put more.' YB and I just sneakily looked at each other and started laughing. See..that's how he gets you.

The point is that now I guess I'm signing up to be a stream-o groupie. I hope to keep things interesting over there and trust me, I have no deep wow-like stories. I was never on drugs, I wasn't abused, I always had a dog. I am just living in a material world, because I am a material girl. A material.....

I'm giddy

I got my day off!! My boss told me that since I asked so nicely, she couldn't say no. I guess having manners finally pays off.

YB has joined a new website to which he is a contributor called Streams of Consciousness. It's pretty neat. He posted something that was kind of deep and everyone kept saying 'wow.' We started laughing about it, and I told him I was going to type wow just to be funny. So I did, and I can't stop laughing. Then he posted something that was just really silly and I typed 'wow' again. I think they'll block me from posting. Sorry, Streamo crew. I'll stop. HA!!HA!!

I am going to happy hour tomorrow with my coworkers. Another one has put in his notice and his last day is Friday. Since I won't be here, happy hour has been moved to Wednesday. I'm so fun..my coworkers change the dates for me. How about that? I'm hoping this one girl doesn't show up. I think she likes my coworker, but she hasn't admitted it. She just always says 'how come you guys didn't invite me?' I have been out in public about four times and all four times that she appears she says that. I think after some point you have to get the hint. I don't want to invite her tomorrow so I can crack up when she appears and says "her line", but I kind of want to invite her so she doesn't have anything to say. Decisions decisions.

What else do I feel like sharing? Oh..I picked up my bridesmaid dress last night and rolled it into a ball and threw it in my backpack for my ride home. I think the ladies were probably disgusted with me. It's my dress. I paid for it, make scowls at other people please. The lady that gave me the dress didn't even say thanks. I swear..this better be the last friend I know getting married. I can't go through this again. Of course, now I'm jinxing myself and they'll all have babies, and I'll be going through the same nightmare at Babies R Us or something. I am totally bringing myself down. Who has Xanax?! (that's an antidepressant, right?)

Taking a Day Off

I hate asking my boss for a day off work. I have worked a lot of days without using a vacation day since I don't know how long. I had a few comp days that I used to go to the MD basketball game, a funeral and I forget where else I went with my other half day, but all winter I was at work. ugh!

This weekend I worked so I now have 14 hours to use (in addition to my regular vacation time), and I want to use one this Thursday. I'm going down to Va. Beach for the weekend, and I already have Friday off, and figured having Thursday off means one more day to relax, but I hate asking for more time off. I don't know why I'm always such a scaredy cat.

The guys (YB included) always just decide to take a day off and ask for it, or tell the boss they're taking it or whatever, but I always get so nervous. I never know whether I should ask or tell even though the days are rightly mine.

I already sent an email asking to take Thursday off and said I would get my projects done. I hope that works.

Grosser Than Gross

It's not often that I get to use that title, but yesterday, something finally occurred where I can use it. Woohoo!!

Ed and I washed the motorcycles yesterday. It was 70 or 75 degrees and he was hungover, so I figured that would be a good activity. I also have this backdoor awning, party shelter thing that's been in my garage since last August when I had a party. This shelter thing is huge. I never folded it up, I just threw it in the garage, so no telling what happened to it over winter. There was that mouse in my garage, so I was thinking that maybe there was mice poop on it, or dead mice caught inside. So Ed dragged it onto my driveway to let it air out and then we would fold it after we finished washing the bikes. Ed's bike was closer to the awning thing and he was going on about how the shelter reeked. Well, I walked over there, and it was the worst smell ever. I said 'I think there's something dead in there somewhere.' I went back to my bike (far far away) and finished shining it up and cleaning the wheels and all that good stuff, while Ed is still miserable by his bike. HA!!HA!!

I finally finished washing my bike and walked back over to the shelter. I picked up one side of it and smelled it and I couldn't smell anything. There was no way that smell was coming from the awning. At this point I'm starving, so I said 'let's go eat, then come back and work on this.' We did and when we got back, Ed shook one side of the awning. Nothing. There wasn't anything dead in or near the awning. All of a sudden it hit me. Earlier that morning when the bird-dog and I were making our rounds, I saw that the neighbors had this dead squirrel or rat in a hole in their yard. Basically, the neighbors have a spot in their backyard that looks like a pothole. In the pothole is this dead animal. Maybe it tripped and broke it's leg or neck or something and died. It's in a weird spot that's for sure. So then I said "oh, the neighbors have something dead in their yard. I bet that's what we're smelling." So I showed him where it was and that was it. When the wind blew, the stench from that rat/squirrel thing came into my yard and right over the awning. I was so happy it wasn't my awning. We folded it up and put it back in the garage until I have another party.

You guys should be so happy that you couldn't smell this thing. I can't even describe it, but with the warm temperatures, the sun shining bright and a pretty strong wind, it's enough to kill a man. hee hee. So this morning, I'm walking with Jemma again and I have to see if the rat thing is still there. Surprisingly enough, it's gone. I bet a bird smelled it and carried it away. I was going to tell my neighbor about it so they could move it, but now I don't have to. You know what else I realized. My neighbors have two dogs, and I'm surprised the dogs didn't spot the dead thing before I did. I guess chihauhas aren't bloodhounds. hee hee.

This Is Death!

I'm working with cg today and he's the worst. I had the wires ready to put in the port and he decides he wants to do it a different way because he thinks my way won't work. Dude, I've done this a million times. It's going to work. So then he's like 'well, the numbers on the wires are all wrong and we'll have to rewrite them.' I said 'I'm going to my desk, and you can rewrite the numbers.' Putting the numbers on the wires is prep work. You can do that before we even start setting up the study. Why waste valuable daylight?

Last but not least, we're back there setting up and another guy walks in and says "I have to fix something. How long will it take you guys before you're ready?" cg says 'oh, at least a couple hours.' Are you kidding me?? If I was doing this, it would take me one hour to set up and start my study, but considering he's a fricking idiot it takes him a couple hours.

This is worst than I thought, folks. Back to work.

I Love Wine

I'm not the conoisseur (sp?) like Grace, but I've had a bottle of wine in my wine rack for maybe a month. The problem with my wine rack is that if I have something in there, I usually drink it, so then I have nothing to display. Well, last time I went to the liquor store I bought three bottles of wine. I gave one of my good ones to Erin, the girl that had the party with 5 people and I drank Smirnoff Ice. I guess I drank the other bottle of reisling at some point and I was left with one bottle of merlot. I love merlot. Merlot and Reisling are my favorites.

So last night I was watching Will and Grace and Grace had a glass of wine. I thought, "hmm..I would like a glass of wine." So I opened my bottle of wine. It's just your basic Turning Leaf Coastal Reserve. The Coastal Reserve has a fancy label and seems a lot fancier than the regular 6.00 bottle of Turning Leaf. If all else fails, get Turning Leaf. You can't beat the cost and the taste, to me, never fails. Anyway, I was worried that if I opened the bottle, I wouldnt' be able to finish it because I haven't been drinking a lot of wine. I'm on more of a beer kick lately.

I opened the bottle, and I instantly became a wino. It tasted so good! I drank half a glass (oops I lied-red plastic cup) last night while chatting with my moto. buddies and I was all sorts of silly. I had a great night's sleep and went to work with a smile.

Tonight I decided to have another glass-oops, same red plastic cup. I'm now on cup number two and I'm good to go. I was supposed to pick up my bridesmaid dress tonight but I am not drinking and driving. I decided to blog instead. How funny is this? I'm drinking my wine and cracking up at Judge Judy. There was nothing particularly funny about this episode, but I was laughing and laughing. I think my dog thinks I'm crazy. She knows the wine breath. She knows what's up.

Allright, I've had enough blogging. I think I've backspaced 100 times. See you guys in the AM. Don't forget it's Friday, time to get loose, let your hair down, wear sexy lace tank tops and strut your stuff girls and guys. If you got it, flaunt it. I'll be wearing some dirty pants that I wore earlier this week because I can't wear jeans and I only do laundry once a month. hee hee. I'm the worst. Good thing I'm charming. :)

Scissors Video-Not Safe for Work

Here's the video with the scissors kid. I don't want to see it, but if you do, here it is. I'm not sure if you should watch it at work or not. It's your call I guess.

Video

That Guy Post

CG (cheaterguy) is who we were talking about. I was talking to YB about him this morning and he said the more he talks to him, the more he really can't stand him. That's just a preview.

This weekend I think I'll be working with cg. I told the little boss that I can't understand how every porject he works on fails, and he's been doing this job for 6 or 7 years and he just sucks at it, so the little boss asked me to help him this weekend. Grrrr. I know. I have such a big mouth. The only good thing about helping him is that I get comp time and I'm trying to get to Va. Beach early next week for a party with my motorcycle friends, so I'm dealing with it.

Here's an example of how crazy cg is. The boys here always email each other funny video clips and such. One clip showed a bunch of guys in a college dorm picking on another geeky guy. Well the geeky guy got fed up, picked up a pair of scissors and totally chucked them across the room at one of the guys. The scissors stuck in the guy's arm. They emailed this one to cg and he said "I can understand how the guy feels. He probably just picked up the first thing he saw." WHO THROWS SCISSORS? I can understand punching someone or getting revenge, but you don't throw scissors across the room at someone.

He's psycho crazy. And on top of all that he makes everything 100x more difficult than it needs to be, and it's annoying listening to his explanation/justifications for his failures. That is why YB and I are both sick. hee hee.

Haloscan Support Rules

I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to the people at haloscan. I really had trouble understanding how to put the new comments on my blog. Gordon was really helpful and I'm guessing Robert is also from there. They got back to me very quickly and solved all my problems and I was able to change my background template to match my blog template.

Matching is good. Hope you guys don't have green overload. I'm a fan of green.

I rode to work again today, so I'm all smiles (except the guy that makes me sick!). hee hee. Have a good day peeps. I have a feeling I'll be writing a lot today.

That Guy..

makes me SICK.

Wednesday, April 13, 2005

Oh no!

So I added the haloscan comments, Ropemonkey commented, but the same comment is running through all my posts now. Someone, hurry and comment so I can see what happens if I have two comments.

Haloscan Added

YAY!!
Thanks to Veronica and YB, I now have added the haloscan comments to my regular comments. It worked like a charm.

Now, if only I could get my comments to have the same green background as my template then I will really be excited.

OK..I'm going to play around with it. Seeya.

Oh Happy Day!

Do any of you guys sing that song in church?

I'm not really that happy, but I should be. I have been sneezing a lot and I guess I'm have some sort of allergic reaction, but I've never sneezed so much in the springtime before. Hopefully it's because it's the beginning of spring and the pollen counts are high. I just made that part up but I hear people say that in the springtime so maybe it's true. *shrug*

It's a little chilly outside today, maybe 50 degrees, but after the last few days, Brr...

Ed and I rode around town and to the airpark to watch the planes take off and land. That was pretty cool. I found out where I'm supposed to pick up YB from the airport train station too. I don't know why he got his ticket at the airport train station, but it's ok. It's closer to my house than Penn Station. YB is going on an adventure at the end of the month. I hope he has a fun time.

Another guy put in his notice at work. He's my buddy and I will be sad when he's gone. But, I'm happy he's moving on, because everyone here really should. We're all just suckers. The rumor is that the company has 3 months to get its act together. We'll see what happens in three months. Probably nothing but some people are nervous, I suppose.

I went to the soccer game with my coworker on Saturday. His brother and his brother's friend joined us. It was honestly a good time. I had never been to a professional game before. The people in our section were so rowdy. Everyone was yelling and chanting in Spanish and English and when our team scored (DC United), everyone threw their beer in the air. At 6 bucks a pop, I wasn't throwing jack. hee hee.

I wish I could give you guys all hugs today. Especially Barbara. :) Have a great day everyone.

I'm Losing It

I have been so absent minded and forgetful today. I left the building twice today without my badge, I can't remember what I'm doing from one minute to the next. It's pretty bad.

I took over writing the newsletter for my women's motorcycle group, the Motor Maids, and I am supposed to be sending 6 by regular mail. I don't understand how some of these ladies don't have an email address, but I'll live. Last night, I got a call from my director saying to add an update to the newsletter. Well, I wrote the update on a yellow slip of paper. I thought SURE I put it in my backpack with the envelopes and addresses and everything else I needed. Well, I got to work, printed out the newsletters, addressed the envelopes and now I can't find that yellow slip of paper. I hope it's at home on the mudroom sink, but if it's not, I'll just make up an update and say what I remember from the conversation. No one will know.

My grandmother was ok. She is a big phone talker, so all night Friday and all day Saturday her friends were calling and she was telling them that she was sick and couldn't see. She decided to take a nap around 9, so I figured I'd take one too. The phone would not stop ringing. Mom-mom came downstairs about 11 and said her house is worst than the hospital because everyone's calling. I laughed and told her that she loved it, and if not, turn off the ringer while you're taking a nap. She said 'if I turn off the ringer, no one will be able to get through to talk to me.' See..she loves it. My mom got up there around 4, and I left at 3. It was fun hanging out with Mom-mom. It always is, though. Oh, she made me sleep in the back bedroom. When I lived with her, I slept in the middle room. She has a roommate supposedly now who sleeps in the middle room, but this girl is MIA most of the time apparently. Then, I told Mom-mom I wanted to sleep in her room and she said I couldn't because of Jemma. So, Jemma and I slept in the back room. I guess it was better than nothing.

Sunday, Ed and I went riding all over town. It was an awesome day for riding.

Happy Friday

I emailed Veronica this morning and I was telling her that this week has been one of the busiest I've had in a long time. Sometimes I think 'I really should get a life.' Then I have a week like this and I enjoy sitting home doing nothing.

So, after all the running around this week, I am going to see my grandmother tonight. She woke up with blurry vision last week sometime, went to the doctor and they recommended another doctor. She went to the next doctor on Monday, and I guess she'll be going to ANOTHER doctor on the 19th. My grandmother lives alone and can't see. You would think that they would be able to schedule her surgery immediately, but I guess not. Another thing is that because she's lived in her house for 10 zillion years and owns it, she's too rich to get a home health aid through her insurance. She may own her house but she lives in the ghetto. Give me a complete break. So, for people that have worked hard all their lives and then get old, they don't get any help. I hate the system.

I hope Jemma doesn't want to jump on Mom-mom a lot. It might scare her and that would be bad. Oh, my mom said I have to give my Mom-mom some kind of shot for her diabetes or to check her sugar and supposedly it's complicated. I hope I can do it.

I hope you guys have a great weekend. At least the sun is starting to peek out. Bye!!

You Tell Me

I think my coworker likes me. Not just friendly like, but like like.
It's kind of weird. I mean, I'm friendly with him and enjoy hanging out, but today I got a different vibe.

Picture this - Sicily, April 1924.
Today he came into work still drunk (apparently). He asked what I was doing for lunch and I said I wasn't sure and was probably just getting something to drink at 7-11 and then coming back to work. He asked if I wanted to go to the park like we did yesterday. Although yesterday another coworker was with us. I said "Sure, meet me out front at my car." We stopped at 7-11, we went to this Italian place to pick up his sandwich and then we went to the park.

There are benches all around and we just sat on two that were open. Not a big deal. Well, here's the kicker- He went to throw away his trash and then when he came back he sat right next to me. Like in my personal space next to me. HA!!HA!! That was kind of weird, but I didn't want to act like it was weird so I just stayed calm. Eventually we left and came back to work.

Now, we've been out a couple times. I went to happy hour with him and another coworker a LONG time ago. We also met for some coworker's departure happy hour/birthday party, and we hated the coworker and were just going to talk about everyone. For some reason the coworkers we liked couldn't go, but we did have fun. Then, we hung out at the bar for the MD basketball game. His roommate was there and that was a fun time. We ended up meeting up with some of their other friends and then I felt like a mom, so I had to go. They are all in their 20s. We also hung out on St. Patty's day with a lot of other coworkers, and now I might be going to a soccer game with him and his roommate on Saturday.

He invites me places all the time and I don't think of them as "dates" but maybe I should. I don't think this is good. He knows I have a boyfriend, but I think he just likes hanging out with me. That's okay, right? I would NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS do anything with this guy. What say you peanuts?

March for the Animals: A Success...sort of.

I went on the March for the Animals on Sunday with my older sister and her bad dog, Loki (pronounced low-key) ran away. I ran after him for about two miles and he kept going. He is a husky, so anytime he can run he's happy. Meanwhile, all the assholes in their car are yelling 'Put your dog on a leash!' DUH!! HELLO!?? 'Shut up you stupid jerks!!!' People suck. Finally I lost him and went to check in at the registration because I gave Jemma to my sister while I chased Loki and they weren't at the car when I got back. I asked some guy at the registration that had a husky if he had seen another girl with a husky. He said 'no.' I looked around and there were tons of girls with huskies. People suck. Anyway, I didn't see my sister, so I thought that maybe they went on the walk and I would backtrack and meet them. Well, I walked back a ways and I finally saw my sister, Kobe (her other husky) and Jemma. She said that they found Loki and put him in the car. He was punished and not allowed to go on the walk.

So now, back to the walk. We walked our 1.5 miles and Jemma got into a couple fights. hee hee. One dog was licking all the dogs on the lips and was so happy to see other dogs. Unfortunately, Jemma is like me in that she likes to be the one who approaches or aggressor. She didn't like that dog. A lot of the other dogs weren't into the lip licks either, but that dog was having a great time. Jemma gets better every year on the walk and even though she got into a few scuffles, overall she was much calmer and didn’t foam at the mouth like she usually does. Maybe that’s a defense mechanism. If the other dogs think she has rabies they will leave her alone. HA!!HA!!

I told my sister that if any of the dog walkers saw Loki in the car, they would probably call the police or something for being cruel to animals, when we were on a fundraiser for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. I thought that was pretty ironic but hysterical. No one called apparently. Loki was happy when we returned, but my sister was still pretty mad with him. The weather was cold and windy, but we made it another year. If you guys have an animal walk or something for the animals, I highly recommend it. It’s so cute seeing big dogs, small dogs, ugly dogs and cute dogs all in the same place. Amazingly enough, dogs do look like their owners. Hee hee.

Yoohoo Egghe!

Hey, when you say yoohoo, do you put an exclamation point or a question mark? That's the grammar question of the day.

Anyway, it's going to be 80 degrees today. I rode to work and my hands were a little cold, but I'm not making the mistake I made last time of wearing my heated gear and then having to wear it home when it's 100 degrees. So..I just sucked it up this morning and boy will I be glad this afternoon. I will ride home, then go running with my dog and then I have a friend coming over and THEN I will ride a couple towns over for an ABATE meeting. ABATE is the group that fights for motorcyclist's rights, so I am proud to be a member.

Yesterday my new riding friend, Debbie, met me at my house and we went to another moto. group meeting. She is deaf but can read lips. I introduced her to everyone and then we sat down to eat and talk. I didn't know if I should have told the others that she can read lips but is deaf. I will have to ask her next time. This was her first time meeting the people in the group, so I'm sure she was happy just observing, but I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. I think she had a good time. She is a beginner rider and it makes me nervous to ride with her because I think I may be going too slow or too fast, but she's doing well so I should probably just calm down.

The little boss is leaving early today, and I might just have to also. C'mon afternoon!!! Egghe, are you ready to get a bike yet?

Say Goodbye to the Last Perk

Wow. It took me about an hour to finally have this screen load up today. Has anyone else had that problem? I've actually been kind of busy at work and haven't had a chance to look around.

Today is the last day we can wear jeans. Once we had the big layoffs in February, our boss rallied for our department to be able to wear jeans. As of yesterday the little boss' boss said he lost the argument, and now we can no longer wear jeans.

Now I'm really mad. The only perk at this place is that we get lots of vacation and that our group can wear jeans. I just bought 4 new pairs of jeans because I needed them so I wouldn't have to wear my same 3 pairs of jeans every day to work. Now, I have to go shopping again to get new dress pants because the ones I have are too small. This is such an annoyance. Maybe I'll get one pair of khakis and just wear them everyday. Seriously, don't put it past me. I REALLY need to start looking for a new job and stop goofing off.

Women Pay Attention to Details

Here's a fun game I've been playing this morning. I did edition 4. You have to guess which corporations these letters come from.

I guessed 6 right at first glance. Then I looked at it a few seconds later and got three or four more, and then I looked at the first page and I guessed one more. So 11 letters total. Not bad...see how you do. Some of them are tricky.

Breakfast Date

Em and I got home at 12:30 last night (or this morning, rather) and I went right to bed. The ceremony was very nice, and Moe was really happy that we hung out at her house before the ceremony. I think having us there and a couple other friends calmed her nerves.

I'd have to say there were probably 100 people at the funeral home. It was standing room only. Someone put a Coors Light in the casket with Bob, but no one thought to bring Jack Daniels. Apparently Bob drank a lot of Jack when he was younger. They called him 'Mean Bob.' If you guys knew him in these last few years, you would call him 'Nice Bob' because I honestly never heard him say a mean word. He didn't talk often, so it's not hard to be nice when you're quiet, but he was never mean and always willing to help whenever he could. I'll miss him.

So YB and I had a breakfast date this morning. We were the first ones here and since I was so tired, I'd figured I'd just sit in his office and eat my waffles and muffins and more muffins (Look out Atkins. I'm your worst nightmare). Well I sat in there for about an hour or so and then I went to my desk to start my day. The little boss sent me an email saying not to hang out in YB and Spacebrain's office because we have a lot of work that neeeds to be done (whatever!), and especially not to sit at Spacebrain's becuase he's a boss now and has confidential stuff on his desk. ARRGGHH!! If it's so confidential, he can put it in a file in a drawer and I won't see it. On top of that, what do I care? My company is so far gone it doesn't matter if someone tells me we're closing down. I'll believe it when my keycard doesn't work anymore. I could care less about confidentiality. 'ooh, we're going to hire someone. Maybe they'll pay them a decent salary.' 'ooh, we're not getting raises, don't tell anyone' 'ooh, they are taking away our conference table. shhh.' Give me a freakin' break.

I am now confined to my desk for the rest of the day, and I'll get up and do some work if I feel like it. I have one thing at noon to do, so I'll do that. The rest of the day I'll be practicing sleeping with my eyes open.

Sorry I haven't made the rounds to comment. I feel swamped. Maybe today I'll get a chance. Miss you already YB!!! hee hee.
